An Organization's Ability to Reach HyperInnovation
AIIM 99(Booth # 2327)--Open Text (TM) Corporation (NASDAQ:OTEX)(TSE:OTC) today announced its strategy to enable HyperInnovation(TM) among the world's largest corporations, taking its knowledge management strategy to the next level. As a key part of this strategy, Open Text announced the next evolution of its Livelink(R) product family, MyLivelink(TM), the first of its kind collaborative corporate portal for the enterprise.
"Today's Global 2000 companies have no choice but to adapt to the rapid pace of change brought on by constant new advancements in their industries," said Ian Campbell, Vice President, International Data Corporation. "By organizing the flow of information to the user, Open Text's MyLivelink allows companies to improve decision-making, product development and time-to-market, accelerating innovation to the fastest possible speed."
By deploying Livelink, Open Text's customers are already on the road to HyperInnovation with collaborative intranet, enterprise, or extranet applications. The addition of MyLivelink, as a collaborative corporate portal, will take customers one step further by enabling users to automatically create a single, personalised interface for accessing internal corporate knowledge as well as external information. MyLivelink adds new value by combining the type of personal information that is commonly available on existing consumer portals, with other external information such as specialized subscription feeds, live news feeds and Web content which is pre-sorted into industry categories by Open Text's automated agent technology.
"Rapid change and overwhelming volumes of information have become the norm in our industry. Fast, structured, reliable access to this information is critical for effective business decision-making. Open Text's collaborative knowledge management solutions exemplify the elements that are key to the solid foundation we need to build our on-line information systems," said Andrew Moizer, senior manager software tools and production, Optical Networks, Nortel Networks. "Moving forward, we are confident that Open Text will provide vision and products that will unify access to all information sources and automatically deliver powerful personalized views to the desktop."
MyLivelink will provide customizable search, navigation and access to industry-specific categories of business content on the Web. The first industry category within MyLivelink will be telecommunications, which will be closely followed by other industries such as high-tech manufacturing, financial services and many others.
"By providing a unified user interface to information repositories, both inside and outside the corporate firewall, MyLivelink is the next logical step toward HyperInnovation," said Tom Jenkins, Chief Executive Officer, Open Text Corporation. "As the first collaborative corporate portal, MyLivelink empowers users to make faster and better-informed decisions, increasing productivity and further strengthening competitive advantage."
