Digital Video Start-Up IZAHI Lands Two Veteran Technology Pioneers for Key Positions

Gunnar Hurtig III and Joe Akerman Join Palo Alto Start-Up for Key
Leadership Positions in Finance and Sales & Marketing
IZAHI Corp. (www.izahi.com), a digital video company, today announced that Gunnar Hurtig III, a digital video pioneer and venture capitalist, and Joe Akerman, a technologist and investment banker, have joined the company's board of directors.
In addition, the company announced that Hurtig will become the company's executive vice president of Sales and Marketing while Akerman will become IZAHI's executive vice president of Finance.

"Their experience in high-technology marketing, sales, and finance will be very valuable for the company. Hurtig and Akerman are establishing connections with Consumer Electronics companies in the United States, Japan and Europe and with multiple finance sources legitimizing our two-year long effort."
Lopez, a graduate of Stanford University and former IBM and C-Cube Microsystems (Nasdaq:CUBE) engineer, launched IZAHI in 1997.
Gunnar Hurtig III, a veteran of Fairchild Camera and Instrument Co., National Semiconductor (NYSE:NSM) and interim CEO of C-Cube Microsystems, has founded more than 15 Silicon Valley companies and is the managing partner of Incites Ventures, a venture capital group.
Hurtig holds an MBA from Stanford University and a BSEE from Cornell University. Hurtig said, "Mr. Lopez had distinguished himself as a key technologist at C-Cube and thus it was both an honor and an easy decision to become an investor and director of IZAHI."
Akerman said, "IZAHI's impact on visual technology for television and computer monitors will be viewed as a dramatic event several years from now." Joe Akerman holds an MBA from Stanford University and a BSEE from Yale University. Akerman first worked for Dean Witter's and Dillon Read's corporate finance departments, and later served as a financial officer for Fairchild Camera and Instruments.
He founded Delphi Securities in 1977, and completed several acquisitions of public companies including Barnett Bank's REIT, in Florida in 1979, where he served as CEO and Chairman.
IZAHI Corp.'s first family of products enhances video and television signals using patent-pending software and hardware to provide consumers with the highest quality pictures. IZAHI's first line of products will be released in July 1999.
