Business Wire, April 15, 1999
SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 15, 1999--
Verilink Corporation (Nasdaq:VRLK), a supplier of access products that link corporate and wireless networks to the Internet and other wide-area network services, today announced that it passed its ISO 9001 recertification audit performed by SGS International Certification Services, Inc.
In addition, Verilink's Madison, Alabama facility (formerly TxPort) has been granted "Registered Firm" status under I.S. EN ISO 9001:1994 by the National Standards Authority of Ireland.
The ISO 9001 standard is a model for Quality Assurance in Design/Development, Production, Installation and Servicing. ISO 9001 is the most successful international standard ever produced and is currently in use in over 70 countries worldwide.
"ISO 9001 has been the cornerstone of the quality management system for the successful development, manufacture, and service of Verilink products since 1993," said Joseph Jesup, corporate director of quality at Verilink. "We view ISO certification as imperative to doing business."
Achieving ISO registration requires the supplier demonstrate, through a third party on-site assessment, that its quality system adequately and completely conforms to the ISO 9001 standard. ISO registration is the beginning of a continuous quality system maintenance and improvement cycle. By reaching this milestone, Verilink has demonstrated how effective implementation of an ISO 9001 compliant quality system facilitates effective management over design, manufacturing and service delivery processes.
