Business Wire, April 19, 1999

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 19, 1999--

The International Organization for Standardization and its Registrar Accreditation Board awarded ISO quality certifications to ASI Solutions Incorporated (Nasdaq:ASIS), a leading provider of human resources outsourcing services, it was announced today.

ASI received ISO 9001 certification for its Performance Improvement Services business, which includes assessment and selection, training and development, and customer contact monitoring operations. The company also earned its first certification in the 9002 category for its Proudfoot Reports pre-employment background investigation business, a segment of ASI's Employment Process Outsourcing services.

"It is gratifying to note that all of the ASI units which applied were promptly granted ISO certification in their appropriate categories," said Bernard F. Reynolds, ASI's chairman and chief executive officer. "It is further recognition of the process excellence that characterizes the way in which ASI delivers quality outsourcing services to our diverse and growing client base. The commitment that ASI makes to our clients demands reliable and predictable processes, and ISO certification is a valuable, additional assurance that ASI means quality outcomes."

"We combine social science know-how, business acumen and advanced information technology to help our clients attract, reward and retain the high-quality workforce vital to their success," Reynolds added. "This level of ISO quality certification places us in a rare and, in some cases, unique competitive position by assuring a process of quality and reliability in the services we provide to our present and future clients. It also underscores the dedication and professionalism of all the ASI people who live this service commitment every day."

As part of the qualification process, ASI worked closely for nearly a year with ISO program experts at Merrimack College, North Andover, Mass. to demonstrate and document the company's long-standing quality system. Also, ASI established a three-year relationship with Perry Johnson Registrars, Inc., Burlington, Mass., lead assessors accredited by the Registrar Accreditation Board to conduct the requisite semi-annual audits to ensure continuing compliance with all elements of ISO's standards.

About ISO

ISO 9000 standards were created by the International Organization for Standardization to provide guidelines for the quality of company systems associated with the design, manufacturing, installation and servicing of company products. ISO standards have been adopted as the primary means for evaluating the quality of manufacturing and other systems by over 80 countries worldwide, including France, Germany, Japan, the U.K., the U.S., and Canada. To qualify for these certifications, companies must implement quality management systems that comply with the international standards. Systems are then independently audited for compliance.
