Business Wire, April 26, 1999

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 24, 1999--

Bank of America associates throughout Northern California are participating in "National Rebuilding Day" with Christmas in April this Saturday as they troop into neighborhoods to help rebuild homes and buildings.

In addition to the volunteer effort, Bank of America provides financial support to various Northern California Christmas in April efforts, which this year totaled $38,700 to projects in Castro Valley, Concord, Daly City, Monterey, Oakland, Petaluma, Sacramento, San Francisco, and San Jose. Christmas in April is a non-denominational, community-based project dedicated to helping low-income, elderly and disabled people across America live in warmth, safety and independence through volunteer repair and renovation of owner-occupied homes and nonprofit facilities.

"There is no better feeling than being part of a group of individuals coming together on behalf of those in the community who are less fortunate, and helping to fulfill their dreams of a safe and comfortable place to live," said Steve Yotter, Bank of America Diablo District Manager, who will be participating in the project for his sixth year.

Throughout the day associates, coordinated by Team Bank of America, Bank of America's volunteer network, will tackle projects such as repairing roofs, planting and cleaning yards, repainting the interior and exterior of buildings, fixing plumbing and patching drywall. And similar scenes will take place around the country, as Bank of America associates in ten states donate their time to improve more than 25 buildings and homes in their communities.
