Cognizant Technology Solutions to Develop Internet Applications for Nielsen Media Research

Cognizant Technology Solutions Corporation (NASDAQ: CTSH) today announced that it will draw on its broad Internet expertise to develop a variety of new, Net-based applications for Nielsen Media Research.
The Internet project work builds upon a long-standing relationship between the two companies. Cognizant Technology Solutions (CTS) has been providing a variety of application development, maintenance and other outsourcing services to Nielsen Media Research since 1995.

Under the agreement announced today CTS will work on a variety of Internet application development projects for Nielsen Media Research, including an information management system that will provide a more efficient way to store and maintain demographic information used by the Company's researchers. Using a state-of-the-art, n-tier, web-based architecture, the new application will eliminate the need to install software on individual desktops, and allow researchers in all parts of the US to access the data via an Intranet.
CTS will also be working with Nielsen Media Research on an on-going basis on several other Internet projects, including web-enabling mainframe-based applications, and automating quality control processes for custom research.
