Lexmark introduces eight Solaris Ready network printers certified by Sun

Lexmark International, Inc. (NYSE: LXK) today announces eight Solaris Ready(TM) printing solutions specially configured for Sun(TM) users. The printing solutions include Ethernet-ready Optra(TM) printers, Sun-specific documentation and MarkVision(TM) for Sun Systems and Intranet Servers to facilitate seamless installation and use in Sun Solaris(TM) network environments.

The award-winning Optra printers offer the versatility to support a wide variety of applications with the quality customers demand. Customers can choose monochrome laser printing speeds of 12-, 16-, 18-, 24- or 34- pages per minute (ppm), color laser printing at 12 ppm black/3 ppm color and inkjet printing at 8 ppm black/4 ppm color. With Optra printers, customers can mix and match most options to custom-build the configuration best suited to their unique applications and print volumes. Solaris Ready Optra printers are also designed to print well on a broad range of paper types and sizes.

Optra printers are designed to quickly print the complex jobs Sun users generate every day. Intelligent controller architecture and high-performance print servers pull jobs off the network fast. Users can select the best print quality for their specific applications because all of the Solaris Ready printers offer 1200 Image Quality mode and 600 x 600 dpi resolution. In addition, the Optra S monochrome laser printers provide true 1200 X 1200 dpi resolution.

The Solaris Ready monochrome lasers include: Optra S 1255n, Optra S 1625n, Optra S 1855n, Optra S 2455n, Optra Se 3455n, Optra N 245 with estimated street prices of $1,349, $1,399, $1,549, $2,249, $2,699 and $3,049 respectively. The Optra SC 1275n color laser has an estimated street price of $2,499. The Optra Color 45n color inkjet printer has an estimated street price of $1,199.
