Telemobile Finalizes ISO 9001 Certification Registration
Business Wire, April 27, 1999
TORRANCE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 1999--
Telemobile Inc. Wireless Communication Solutions (www.telemobile.com) has passed its final ISO registration process for ISO 9001 certification covering quality assessment in design, engineering, manufacturing, assembly and testing companywide, announced Dan Thomas, vice president of marketing.
This includes Telemobile's Complete Quality Standards(R) Program, a forerunner for the internationally recognized ISO 9001 standards registration.
The total company operations are under review for all quality control aspects of their complete line of Wireless Rural Loop (WRL) Telecommunications products as well as Telemobile's Rural Telephony and wireless remote Callbox systems.
Individuals at all levels of Telemobile have been interviewed, all processes have been observed, and records examined to guarantee procedures and work instructions are being followed as contained in the company's Quality Manual.
According to Thomas, "Telemobile's compliance evaluation is in line with mandated quality standards for worldwide manufacturing. Final certification was approved April 16, 1999. We know that becoming ISO 9000 compliant and being registered as ISO 9001, which is the most stringent in the ISO 9000 series and includes ISO 9002 and ISO 9003, provides assurances for Telemobile's customers."
The process was able to be accelerated since Telemobile has had its Complete Quality Standards(R) Program in place and fully documented since 1987.
At that point it performed a complete quality control process update of its engineering and production facilities to meet the contract requirements on a project awarded by Cable and Wireless Ltd., a worldwide communication service provider. Cable and Wireless selected Telemobile as its wireless network equipment supplier at that time.
This process and equipment was reviewed again by Lucent Technology in conjunction with a recent $15 million wireless Callbox contract for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
