Maintenance costs are cited as the biggest Internet challenge for 25 percent of the responding CEOs, while only a few (less than 10 percent for each) find starting a Web site, bandwidth issues, security, attracting customers and organization.

Genetic Engineering, Wireless World Top Expectations for Early

Technology Fast 500 CEOs are looking ahead to the future. Regardless of their industries, most concur that genetic engineering, worldwide wireless communication and voice-response computers are among the top most interesting things to happen in technology over the next 10 years. One CEO pointed out that "Ten years is three generations of technology", while another indicated that "Technology is moving to the 10th power and that technologically, it will be a completely unfamiliar world" in 10 years.
About the Technology Fast 500 CEO Survey and Program
Findings were a result of a survey conducted by Deloitte & Touche of the CEOs at companies listed on the 1998 Deloitte & Touche Fourth Annual Technology Fast 500, a ranking of the fastest growing technology companies in the United States as determined by revenue growth for five years (1993-1997).
The Deloitte & Touche Technology Fast 500 is an annual ranking. The deadline for nominations for the 1999 list is May 15, 1999.
