The editors of TV Technology Magazine awarded the DiviCom MediaView(TM) MV40 standard definition program encoder for product excellence. The "Mario Award" is given annually by Mario Orazio, which is a pseudonym for the well-known Masked Engineer who wishes to remain anonymous. Mario roams the NAB show floor and bestows a total of only 10 prestigious Mario Awards to the approximately 2,000 exhibiting companies. The MV40 encoder is the premium standard definition solution in the MediaView system family and delivers enables dual-pass MPEG-2 encoding and "lookahead" capability for unsurpassed performance.
Broadcast Engineering Magazine also presented DiviCom with its prestigious "Pick Hit" award for best product exhibited at NAB. Broadcast Engineering recognized DiviCast Data-to-MPEG-2 Encapsulator / Muliplexer for its substantial advancements over previous technology. DiviCast enables data broadcasting applications and allows digital television service providers to increase revenue by offering their customers high speed data services including "push" information broadcasts, multimedia streaming, file transfers and Internet/intranet access. The demonstration was co-produced with Gilat and Zapme!
The editors of Television Broadcast Magazine had earlier honored the MediaView MV400 high definition program encoder for product excellence. The award is given annually at the NAB show to manufacturers in recognition of achievement in the advancement of the art and science of television broadcast. The MV400 is the world's first high definition MPEG-2 encoder in a one-rack unit chassis and enables broadcasters to deliver the best high definition television while providing an upgrade path for future requirements.
"At DiviCom, we dedicate ourselves to providing exceptional MPEG-2 technology and complete, packaged solutions based on open systems-based solutions," said Tom Lookabaugh, president of DiviCom.
