Business Wire, April 30, 1999
SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 30, 1999--
-- Leading Computer Systems Integrator and Reseller in Southeast
Asia to Resell F5 Internet Traffic Management Products --
F5 Networks, Inc., a leading provider of Internet Traffic Management (ITM) products, today announced that Singapore-based Singapore Computer Systems (SCS) has agreed to purchase and resell F5's products under a contract being finalized by both parties.
SCS, with annual revenues of US$300 million, is one of the largest IT systems integrators in the Asia Pacific region. This contract calls for SCS to market F5's BIG/ip(R) and 3DNS(tm) Controllers and see/IT(tm) Network Management Console to end-users in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong and Mainland China.
"SCS is a fast-growing company and the premier reseller for HP and Compaq in Southeast Asia. This agreement immediately opens the door for F5 to those major accounts while also allowing us to quickly penetrate the rest of this virtually untapped market," says Jeff Hussey, F5 CEO.
"SCS recognizes the rapid growth of the Internet in Asia -- indeed Singapore is in the top five as far as Internet users and traffic per population is concerned," explains Ng Tong Sing, SCS executive vice president, operations. "Recognizing this huge growth and its subsequent opportunities early has allowed SCS to take the lead in bringing innovative solution-driven Internet technologies like those of F5 to the Asian market. Our partnership with F5 is a statement to SCS' commitment to being a major regional player in the Internet solutions and E-commerce space."
As part of the arrangement, F5 and SC intend to support F5's products in the region through tradeshows, intensive sales and technical training, seminars and direct sales and marketing efforts.
