bCandid Corp. announced today that Cable & Wireless, operator of one of the world's largest and fastest 'backbone' Internet networks, has expanded its relationship with bCandid, the leading developer of software that manages Usenet discussion capabilities.

According to bCandid President and Chief Executive Officer Frank Bergen, the new arrangement attests to the unrivaled capabilities of the company's Cyclone NewsRouter and Typhoon NewsServer software.

"As a 'backbone' provider, Cable & Wireless is handling some of the highest rates of Usenet posting and retrieval traffic in the Internet industry," said Bergen. "Cyclone and Typhoon have met this performance challenge so well that Cable & Wireless has now decided to place even more reliance on our products."

"bCandid's software has met the test in terms of delivering the dependability, flexibility and scalability required by our operations," said Jeremy Powell, Manager of Messaging and Usenet Systems, Cable & Wireless. "This new agreement underscores our confidence that these products will continue to operate flawlessly as the demand for discussion capability continues to grow."
