Absolute Records Signs Deal With Distribution North America

WOODLAND, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 17, 1999--
Distribution North America (DNA) announced today details regarding a recently signed distribution agreement with Absolute Records.
DNA, the independent distribution division of Valley Media, Inc. (Nasdaq: VMIX), will handle distribution of Absolute product to the general music market, and to retail and wholesale members of the Christian Booksellers Association (CBA) through its DNA Christian (DNAC) marketing arm. Absolute's agreement with DNA follows the shutdown of the label's former distribution partner, WEA Christian Distribution. Valley Media, Inc. is a recognized leader in the full-line distribution of music and video entertainment products.

Absolute's first releases through the DNA system will include "Welcome to the Future," the new album from Believable Picnic. Other Absolute artists include the teen band SQUIRT, Jill Parr, and Plush. A sampler featuring Absolute's roster will be among the first releases, and DNA/DNAC will be reissuing Absolute's back catalog.
