EMC Insurance Group Inc. Declares 71st Consecutive Quarterly Dividend

DES MOINES, Iowa--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 18, 1999--

The Board of Directors of EMC Insurance Group Inc. (Nasdaq/NM:EMCI) has declared a quarterly dividend of fifteen (15) cents per share of common stock payable September 15, 1999 to shareholders of record as of September 1, 1999.

This is the seventy-first consecutive quarterly dividend paid since EMC Insurance Group Inc. became a publicly held company in February 1982.

EMC Insurance Group Inc. is a publicly held insurance holding company headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa. It owns subsidiaries in property and casualty insurance and reinsurance.
