L-3 Communications Wins Sonar Contract From Republic of Turkey Navy

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 25, 1999--

L-3 Communications (NYSE:LLL) announced that it has signed a contract to supply eight Helicopter Long Range Active Sonars (HELRAS) to the Republic of Turkey Navy (TN) for its Sikorsky S-70B helicopter fleet. These systems are in addition to the AN-AQS 18A medium frequency dipping sonars that will be integrated as an anti-submarine warfare upgrade to the TN's fleet of Agusta-Bell AB212 helicopters under the scope of this award. The contract for this work is valued at $29.5 million.

Mr. Schorer , German Navy, Italian Navy and Royal Norwegian Navy in waters ranging from the Timor Sea, Mediterranean, Atnication systems and products, microwave compone aerospace and defense prime contractors, foreign governments and commercial telecommunication and cellular customers.
