Hitachi Koki Imaging Solutions Inc. Plays Host to Simi Valley Dignitaries; Hitachi Koki Imaging Solutions Draws Community Officials To Its Simi Valley Headquarters

Business Wire, August 25, 1999

SIMI VALLEY, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 25, 1999--

Hitachi Koki Imaging Solutions Inc. (HiKIS) (formerly Dataproducts Corp.), a global manufacturer of printers, copiers and imaging supplies with headquarters in Simi Valley, recently entertained many of Simi Valley's top politicians at its First Annual Employee Appreciation Day.

The event, held on Aug. 21, had two purposes. First and foremost, it was designed to be a "Thank You" for the hard work and ongoing contributions of the employees of HiKIS, some of whom have been with the company for more than 25 years. Second, the event was an opportunity for the company to reach out to the community of Simi Valley.

With the latter goal in mind, the printer/copier company hosted many of Simi Valley's top officials, including Mayor Bill Davis, Chief of Police Randy Adams, City Manager Mike Sedell, Chamber of Commerce CEO Leigh Engdahl, Chamber of Commerce President Tim Shannon, Unified School District Supervisor Joyce Mehdesian, and the County Supervisor's Office, represented by Jason Oliver.

In a short speech, Mayor Bill Davis spoke of HiKIS' importance in the community not only as a provider of high-tech jobs, but as an example of the good a company can bring to its respective community.

However, last Friday's Employee Appreciation Day was not the only recent visit to HiKIS by a top official. On Aug. 13, Sen. Tom McClintock paid a goodwill visit to the Simi Valley headquarters, where he was shown some of the latest technologies on which the company is working, as well as some of the company's recently launched printer and copiers products.

The Senator's visit gave HiKIS the opportunity to show its elected representative the important role it plays in the local community as a provider of jobs and economic vibrancy.

"We are very proud and fortunate to have hosted some of Simi Valley's most prominent officials," stated Mike Stramaglio, president and COO of HiKIS. "I hope we were able to convey through our Appreciation Day and our tour with Sen. McClintock not only how appreciative we are of Simi Valley as the home of our company, but also how proud we are of their citizens, our employees. After all, our human assets are what make this company successful."
