Company description: jeTECH DATA SYSTEM INC., a privately held corporation, is the world's leading supplier of enterprise solutions for Labor Resource Planning (LRP). Founded in 1983 by Michael Edell, jeTECH DATA SYSTEMS (www.jetechdata.com), provides an integrated application solution for Labor Resource Planning (LRP), which consists of Labor and Project Management in addition to Resource scheduling and planning. These solutions are available through jeTECH's Web business portal, elabor.com(tm) in a hosted (ASP) or standard license scenario.
With headquarters in Camarillo, jeTECH has offices throughout the United States and Canada, and employs nearly 200 people. Since 1994, jeTECH DATA SYSTEMS has grown 75 percent to 100 percent per year, netting Edell two consecutive nominations for the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year award. The company's rapid growth was also recognized in Deloitte & Touche's Southern California "Fast 50" as one of the fastest-growing technology companies in the region.
jeTECH's enterprise solutions have focused on solving problems executives encounter in managing labor-related functions whether dealing with complex payroll issues; changing labor laws, government regulations and union contracts; or to optimize utilization of a firm's intellectual capital.
Today, jeTECH counts 200-plus Fortune 500 and other mid- to large-sized companies as customers of its LRP products and services. With the launch of elabor.com, the company has entered the Application Service Provider (ASP) market, providing jeTECH's best-of-class enterprise solutions to small- and mid-sized companies via the Internet.
In the early 1980s, jeTECH helped establish the Labor Resource Planning market, which is now a standard requirement for businesses of all industries. Back then, jeTECH provided its customers in varied industries with the DOS version of its original labor management program. The application provided customers with an automated solution to collect, monitor and effectively manage labor.
By 1989, jeTECH was the first to introduce a UNIX-based 4GL Labor Management System. This product gave jeTECH the ability to provide solutions to corporations with an enormous employee base. Recognizing that customers were looking for more than software alone, jeTECH increased its consulting and implementation team to support the complex nature of large-scale projects.
Over the years, jeTECH earned a reputation for developing open architecture systems designed to integrate seamlessly into its customers' hardware, network, operating system, database and enterprise plans. In keeping with tradition, jeTECH hit the new client/server market in the early 1990s to support the explosive demands of this emerging market.
In 1996, Edell introduced the FOCUSED TEAM(c) Approach to his organizational structure, which builds teams around areas of specialty, giving the customer targeted expertise. As a result of this innovative management style to successfully complete each project on time, on budget and on target, Edell was nominated for Arthur Andersen's Enterprise Award for Fostering Innovation.
