Enigma's INSIGHT intelligent content publishing suite fully automates the collaborative content assembly and e-publishing process, and provides a wide set of tools to end users who must interact with complex, inter-related content including text- and graphics-based information. INSIGHT creates unified and highly functional Web and CD-ROM publications from PDF, FrameMaker, word processing, SGML/XML, and graphic/image data.
The advanced functionality in these publications includes multi-target hyperlinks, links to videos and interactive self-tests. Multi-target hyperlinks, single-source hyperlinks that give more than one option when selected, provide the end user with a customized way to navigate through the publication. The self-tests allow medical students and professionals to complete self-assessment questions and then provide the answers and explanations. Additionally, all three of the highly customizable titles include thousands of illustrations, as well as tens of thousands of hyperlinks, which are easily accessible through INSIGHT's fast and intuitive searching capabilities.
"The most compelling benefit that we've realized by using INSIGHT is that it allows us to compress our time to market while delivering products with advanced functionality and a customized look and feel," noted Laura Calderone, manager of electronic publishing at The McGraw-Hill Companies.
