Stephen R. Winslow Named Senior Vice President, Finance and Business Development, The Disney Store Worldwide

GLENDALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 3, 1999--

Steve Winslow has been named senior vice president, finance and business development, The Disney Store Worldwide, it was announced by Tom Park, executive vice president, The Disney Store Worldwide, and Tom Conforti, executive vice president and acting chief financial officer for Disney Consumer Products.

Winslow will oversee the worldwide finance, accounting and business development functions for The Disney Store.

Winslow, 39, joins Disney from Star Markets Inc., a $1 billion, privately held grocery-store chain in Boston, where he had served as CFO since 1997. Winslow's retail background includes seven years with Staples Inc., where he worked in various roles, including vice president of financial planning and analysis, chief accounting officer and controller.

Winslow was a key contributor to the company's success; revenues grew from $200 million to $4.5 billion during his tenure. Prior to joining Staples, he spent five years at Unisys Corp. in financial positions, including manager of international accounting.

Winslow received his master of business administration degree from Boston's Northeastern University, and his undergraduate degree from Bowdoin College in Brunswick, Maine. He is married and has three sons.

Founded in 1987, The Disney Store has more than 700 locations in 11 countries around the world. Flagship stores opening this year include locations in Rome; on Michigan Avenue in Chicago; on Oxford Street in London; and in Harlem, N.Y.
