Alan B. Cook Joins Alpha Pro Tech as Vice President Food Service

CHICAGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 30, 1999--

ALPHA PRO TECH, LTD. (OTC BB: APTD) announced today that Mr. Alan B. Cook has joined Alpha Pro Tech, Ltd., as Vice President, Food Service Products.

Al Millar, President of Alpha Pro Tech, commented, "Alpha Pro Tech, Ltd., is fortunate to have attracted someone that has knowledge and insight into the Institutional Food Service Industry."

Mr. Cook attended Ohio State University and has more than 20 years of association with McDonald's Corporation. He has held management positions within McDonald's and has been a successful vendor to McDonald's, Wendy's, Hardees and Burger King in such positions as Vice President, International Accounts for Diversey Corp. "I am pleased to report that Alpha Pro Tech is now testing several of its products with the leaders of the Quick Service Restaurants Industry segment," stated Mr. Cook.
