Business Wire, August 31, 1999

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 31, 1999--

Sun Microsystems, Inc. today announced Sun Professional Services SAP Platform Migration Services to help customers smoothly migrate their current SAP R/3 business application solutions to the Ultra(TM) Enterprise(TM) computing platform.

"When we decided to implement an enterprise-wide computing network, we turned to Sun Microsystems. We wanted a powerful, reliable system and minimal disruption to our day-to-day operations," stated Ed Toben, Vice President, Global Information Technology, Colgate Palmolive Company. "It was reassuring to have Sun Professional Services' consultants as we didn't have time to micromanage every vendor and consultant and they were able to get us up and running flawlessly."

Sun SAP Platform Migration Services is addressing demand from customers experiencing availability issues with their non-Sun platforms. With recent announcements of industry-leading, record-breaking benchmark results (see related announcements from Sun), many customers are opting to migrate their SAP solutions to the Ultra(TM) Enterprise(TM) platform.

"We're helping customers minimize their migration downtime and maximize their Ultra(TM) Enterprise(TM) platform performance," stated Paul Rochester, vice president and general manager of Sun Professional Services. "Sun's proven experience with migrating the SAP R/3 solution to the Ultra(TM) Enterprise(TM) platform is a recipe for success."
