Cumulus Names Robison to Board

MILWAUKEE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 31, 1999--

Cumulus Media Inc. (NASDAQ:CMLS), the nation's third largest owner and operator of radio stations (based upon the number of stations owned or to be acquired pursuant to pending acquisition agreements), today announced the appointment of Eric Robison to the Company's Board of Directors. Robison, age 40, is an executive with Vulcan Northwest Inc. and Vulcan Ventures Inc. Robison also serves on the boards of CNET.com (NASDAQ:CNET), Liquid Audio Inc. (NASDAQ:LQID), Egghead.com (NASDAQ:EGGS) and San Francisco based Rocket Network.

For five years, Robison has served in senior management positions overseeing a number of projects for Vulcan Northwest Inc., the holding company which manages all personal and business interests for investor Paul G. Allen. As Business Development Associate for Vulcan Ventures Inc., Robison investigates and secures investment opportunities, sitting on the board of several Allen investments.

Prior to joining Vulcan, Robison was co-founder and vice president of The Stanton Robison Group, Inc., a business development, marketing and advertising consulting firm. Robison has served in key marketing management positions with SGS, Inc., Ashton-Tate, Inc., and Denny's Inc. He has also worked on the account staff of some of the nation's most prestigious advertising agencies including McCann Erickson, Doyle Dane Bernbach and Foote Cone and Belding.

Robison holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication studies with a minor in music from California State University, Sacramento, and a master of administration in general management from the University of California, Davis.
