Jacobs Division Sverdrup CRSS Designs and Manages Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District's $63-Million Improvement Program

SANTA MONICA, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 4, 1999--
Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that its Sverdrup CRSS division of its subsidiary Jacobs Facilities Inc. received a design and construction management contract from the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District for its $63-million renovation/expansion program.
Officials expect program completion in 2001.
The District's 18 campuses will benefit from classroom additions, recreation and athletic field upgrades, facilities and infrastructure systems modernization, Santa Monica and Malibu High Schools' auditorium renovations, and Malibu High School's gymnasium construction.
In making the announcement, Jacobs Facilities Inc. Senior Vice President Pat Spector stated, "The school district needed a company who could accept total program responsibility for design and construction. Sverdrup CRSS is excited to help them redefine their process for designing and building schools within their community."
Sverdrup CRSS has more than $9.5 billion in educational facilities completed or underway in California, Texas, Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, Colorado, Virginia, Minnesota, Maryland, New York, Alaska, Arizona, Tennessee, Louisiana, and the District of Columbia. Engineering News Record (ENR) recently ranked Jacobs No. 1 in design of Education Facilities.
