Alico Signs Agreement to Sell 190 Acres of Land in Lee County, Fla

LA BELLE, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 9, 1999--
Ben Hill Griffin III, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Alico Inc. (ALCO), announced Monday that the company has signed an agreement to sell 190 acres of land in Lee County, Fla., to Southwest Florida Equities Corp.
The sales price is $6.6 million. If closed, this sale is expected to generate a pre-tax gain of approximately $5.4 million.
The property is located north of Alico Road and east of the planned extension of Ben Hill Griffin Parkway. The property will be used for activities associated with Lee County's "airport commerce" zoning category.
