Business Wire, Dec 1, 1999

MARLBORO, Mass. and NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 1, 1999--

Media 100 and Intergraph Computer Systems Sponsor Contest to Promote

Independent Filmmaking and the Internet

Media 100 Inc. (NASDAQ:MDEA), a leader in streaming media and digital video solutions, and Intergraph Computer Systems today announced they have joined forces to provide a powerful streaming media production system as a give-away to promote independent filmmakers on the Internet. As part of its charter to bring streaming media production solutions to new Internet markets, Media 100 is partnering with Undergroundfilm.com to support one of the hottest growth segments for streaming media - the independent filmmaking community. The give-away, a complete streaming media production package valued at $7,600, was conceived to celebrate the recent launch of Undergroundfilm.com, the Internet's first web community dedicated to the exhibition and distribution of independent films, as well as the creation of the Internet's first online meeting ground for film fans and working filmmakers. Filmmakers submitting work to Undergroundfilm.com are automatically entered to win, and one will be selected at random and announced on the site on December 2nd, 1999.

"Media 100 is taking indie filmmakers by the hand and catapulting them into the world of streaming media on the Internet, and this award is designed to kick-start their efforts," said John Molinari, chief executive officer of Media 100. "This award will provide an aspiring filmmaker with the tools to create and edit a film, and then make it available where next-generation audiences are gathering -- the Internet."

"Our mission is to create an online film community," says Adrien Glover, co-founder and executive content editor of Undergroundfilm.com. "In addition to providing an exciting entertainment space for the 'wired' public, we want to serve as an open forum for independent filmmakers worldwide, a sector of the creative community that has little or no access to the traditional tools of film distribution. This award will be the first of many to support that community."

"Intergraph is committed to empowering video professionals with the latest high-performance digital technologies that were once only available to a select few," said Jeff Edson, president of ViZual Computing at Intergraph Computer Systems. "This combination of Media 100 innovation and the TDZ 2000 gives digital video content creators what they need most - affordability, performance, expandability and guaranteed compatibility with the industry's most powerful digital video hardware and software."

Key Innovations Provide Powerful Streaming Tools for Filmmakers
