Own Your Own Spa for a Week…Bring Your Pets…Yin & Yang — Spa-ing & Vegas for the New Year
Business Wire, Dec 10, 1999
ST. GEORGE, Utah--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 10, 1999--
As the millennium approaches and the boomers get one year older, spas are more popular than ever.
In fact, a recent International SPA Association study reported that while 32% of Americans say they would like to visit a spa, only 7% have done so. Following are some of the reasons to make this the time for your first -- or next -- spa vacation at Utah's Green Valley Spa -- one of the country's only family-owned destination spas.
BE A SPA OWNER FOR A WEEK
Imagine coming back from a corporate retreat, family reunion or business meeting and feeling healthier, rejuvenated, and maybe even thinner. It's possible -- especially if your event is held at a spa. Now you can "own" the Green Valley Spa and Coyote Inn for one week and bring along 65 of your closest friends, business associates or employees.
Green Valley's staff of 120 fitness instructors, chefs and spa therapists will arrange activities like hiking, tennis lessons, fitness classes, spa appointments and meals around a group's schedule. The spa's new conference center/meeting room features a 10' x 7' movie screen, projector and state-of-the-art audiovisual system. The price of a one-week spa "ownership" is $145,000 for up to 65 guests during the low season months, or $165,000 during high season. Includes all taxes and gratuities.
MILLENNIUM SPA-ING, A REAL BARGAIN!
While rooms in nearby Las Vegas are going for nearly $5,000 per night, just two hours down the road, travelers can spend an entire week rejuvenating for the new millennium for about half the price. Seven days and six nights at the Green Valley Spa in the red rock canyon country of St. George over New Year's is the all-inclusive price of $2,600, double occupancy.
Accommodations are in the spa's new Southwestern-style Coyote Inn each with a fireplace, four-poster bed, plush down comforters, 6 ft. Jacuzzi tubs, and a kitchenette with microwave, refrigerator and fresh coffee and coffee grinder. For those who wish to experience New Year's Eve in Las Vegas, Green Valley will arrange a special two-way van trip to celebrate in Vegas and return to the spa after midnight. Those who remain at Green Valley will experience a Native American salutation to the sun as the day breaks on the new millennium.
NOW YOU CAN SPA WITH YOUR FAVORITE PET
Love your yearly spa weeks but sad to leave your dog or kitty behind? Now your favorite pet can also enjoy the red rock canyon country at Green Valley Resort & Spa. After a number of guest requests, owners Alan and Carole Coombs set aside a few rooms in the spa's new Southwestern-style Coyote Inn for guests and their pets.
The fee for pets is $25 a day to make sure that the rooms are sterile and clean for the next guest plus a refundable security deposit of $500. Special pet services include: Calling in advance to make sure the spa has your pet's favorite brand of food waiting in the room; special guided hikes for you and your pooch for a fee of $20 per hour; and a pet bathing area ideal for cleaning up Fido after a run in the desert.
