TechOnLine Launches Two New Educational and Informational Web Sites for Engineers Involved in Analog Circuit Design and EDA
Business Wire, Dec 16, 1999
WALTHAM, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 15, 1999--
TechOnLine, Inc. today unveiled the industry's first educational and informational web sites -- found at www.techonline.com -- designed expressly for analog design engineers and users of EDA (electronic design automation) tools.
"As with TechOnLine's other `nets,' EDAnet(TM) and ANALOGnet(TM) will become the premier online destinations for education, training, news and information for these distinct engineering communities," stated John Miklosz, director of content of TechOnLine. To complement the company's other specialized web sites (DSPnet(TM) and EMBEDDEDnet(TM)), TechOnLine provides these two new resource centers free to engineers, engineering managers and high technology developers worldwide.
EDAnet will focus on the software tools needed to develop, evaluate and debug ASICs (application specific integrated circuits), printed circuit boards, multichip modules, hybrid assemblies, PLDs (programmable logic devices), FPGAs (field programmable gate arrays), ICs (integrated circuits) and embedded systems. Visitors to EDAnet can obtain more in-depth information about the latest technology and products for design, synthesis, physical verification, real-time simulation and hardware/software co-design software than from any other online resource.
ANALOGnet will focus on the industry trends, developments and technologies of interest to analog and mixed-signal circuit designers. TechOnLine will place special emphasis on the integration of analog and digital circuit techniques to improve the functionality, signal integrity and system performance in data conversion, filter, gain and signal modulation applications. In addition to traditional analog circuits, ANALOGnet will also address the issues that face cutting-edge wireless, broadband and RF designers.
Joining TechOnLine's editorial staff to help develop and maintain content are two well-recognized industry experts -- Rita Glover and Jim Lipman. Rita is the president and principal analyst at EDA Today, L.C., a well-known market research firm that tracks issues and trends in the EDA industry, and renowned author of EDA-related articles. Jim comes to TechOnLine from EDN magazine, where he held editorial responsibility for ASIC technology and EDA design tools. Jim's prior experience includes engineering and marketing positions at Texas Instruments, Hewlett-Packard and VLSI Technology.
