NASHUA, N.H.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 15, 1999--
Vision64 Preferred Choice for North America's Second-Largest Provider
of Business-to-Business Small-Package Delivery
SWAN International, Inc. today announced that RPS, Inc., a $1.9 billion small-package delivery company owned by FDX Corp., will implement SWAN's Vision64 (www.vision64.com) to deploy and update its shipping management software.
RPS is committed to meet its customers' shipping demands by utilizing the most effective technology solutions available. For example, RPS' shipping management system is the industry's first carrier-supplied system to provide shippers with multi-carrier parcel processing - a significant competitive advantage for the company. SWAN's Vision64 will enable RPS to deploy and update software quickly and efficiently to workstations nationwide from a central location. In addition, Vision64's Integrity Control Manager(TM) will provide RPS' shipping management system with self-healing technology to ensure that the application is always available for customers. It accomplishes this by detecting and repairing software problems before user productivity is affected.
"Rapid, guaranteed deployment of updated software to our customer sites is vital to our ongoing mission of providing the best shipping solutions for our customers," said Henry Maier, vice president of Product Marketing and Communications, RPS, Inc. "Based on extensive testing, we believe Vision64 will help us continue to offer superior service to our customers."
"RPS' selection of Vision64 affirms its strength as an enterprise-level solution for distributing and managing mission-critical applications," said Michael Torto, SWAN International's CEO. "RPS is known for fast, efficient delivery of packages, and we'll help them continue to grow with our fast, efficient delivery of software."
