Baker to Provide Construction Management Services for I-95 Improvements At Philadelphia International Airport

PHILADELPHIA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 16, 1999--

Michael Baker Jr., Inc., has been selected for a $3.1 million contract by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation to provide construction management support services during the $90 million reconfiguration and improvement of the Interstate Highway 95 Interchange at the Philadelphia International Airport. Michael Baker Jr., Inc., is a subsidiary of Michael Baker Corporation (AMEX:BKR).

Under its contract, Baker will provide oversight of construction activities for a two-year period which began in late November. Baker will service this contract from a field office on site with support from its permanent office in Horsham, Pa. Commenting on the selection, Thomas J. Zagorski, manager of Baker's Transportation construction management (CM) services, said, "This is a significant CM assignment in terms of its high visibility being at the Philadelphia Airport. Additionally, the selection represents a strategic win, continuing Baker's growth in the Delaware Valley area Transportation CM market."
