Business Wire, Dec 17, 1999
EL SEGUNDO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 16, 1999--
Bell Industries Inc. (NYSE:BI) today announced the date of the Annual Meeting has been changed to Feb. 8, 2000 from Jan. 25, 2000. In addition, the date of record for shareholders eligible to vote at the annual meeting was changed to Dec. 27, 1999 from Nov. 30, 1999.
The company said it took the action to enfranchise new shareholders arising from unusually high trading volume resulting shortly after the Dec. 13, 1999 filing of a Schedule 13(G) with the Securities and Exchange Commission by Warren E. Buffett disclosing his acquisition of 5.3% of Bell's common stock.
Bell's primary business is the systems integration group, a multi-regional provider of integrated computer technology solutions for large and medium-sized organizations. Bell also distributes after-market parts and accessories to the recreational vehicle market and manufactures specialized products for the computer and electronics industry.
