Business Wire, Dec 17, 1999
IJAMSVILLE, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 17, 1999--
Redesign includes a new personal assistant feature, enhanced
search capabilities, easier navigation and quicker download time
Online Office Supplies Company (OOSC) today announced the unveiling of its newly enhanced award-winning Web-based office supplies superstore, onlineofficesupplies.com.
Visitors to the site are greeted with a new user interface allowing easier and more productive browsing while reducing the time it takes to download information from the site. Other features, like the enhanced search capabilities, make it easier to locate specific items on the site. The redesign also introduces Clipper(TM), a personal assistant whose "job" is to make shopping with onlineofficesupplies.com faster and easier.
"In today's competitive e-market space, OOSC wants to continue to provide the best technology and most user-friendly shopping experience available online," said Paula Jagemann, CEO of Online Office Supplies Company. "We are continuing to enhance the onlineofficesupplies.com site to match the growing needs of our customers."
The updated search tools include a quick search option on every page that allows the user to search by keyword, manufacturer, part number or any combination thereof. The advanced search tool provides more control over the search by allowing users to specify whether they want to search "all the words", "any of the words" or an "exact phrase". The site also includes extensive Help and FAQ sections to help customers optimize their shopping experience.
OOSC has also added Clipper, a personal shopping assistant that enables customers to create and manage their own personal shopping lists for all their shopping needs. All item displays on the site allow customers to add the displayed items to their personal shopping lists. Clipper also allows users to access previous orders or pre-defined shopping bundles to quickly obtain and repeat orders with just one click of the mouse.
A 10% discount will be offered to customers for their first order on the new site placed on or before January 15th, 2000. To further promote use of the new site, OOSC is offering FREE shipping on all orders placed on or before January 31, 2000.
