Prudential Offers Auto Rate Quotes Via its Web Site
Business Wire, Dec 17, 1999
HOLMDEL, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 17, 1999--
Beginning today, consumers in five states can get instant car insurance price quotes when they log onto Prudential's Internet home page (www.prudential.com).
Shoppers in Arizona, Indiana, Minnesota, Ohio and Virginia can get a price quote from Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Company (PRUPAC) by submitting an application that takes about 15 minutes to be completed. If satisfied, a shopper may either call a toll-free number to purchase a policy, or take the rate quote to a local Prudential agency and meet with an agent.
Earlier this year, PRUPAC began offering on-line quotes with a 24- hour turnaround in California, Illinois, Vermont, Oregon, Nevada and Wisconsin. "The early results of our first on-line experience have encouraged us to move forward with development of real-time quote capability," noted PRUPAC president and chief executive officer, Ed Rafter. "Consumers tell us they want greater access to the information they need to make informed decisions. Our new Internet Auto Rate Quote service is an easy, hassle-free tool that enables them to do just that."
PRUPAC's Internet Auto Rate Quote service is expected to be available in other states by mid-2000. In the meantime, where on-line quotes are not available consumers can "Request a Quote" via an e-mail form that is referred either to Prudential's Direct Call Center or a Prudential agency for a price quote. Availability of Prudential's auto insurance product may vary by state.
Prudential Property and Casualty Insurance Company and its affiliated companies, subsidiaries of The Prudential Insurance Company of America, insure 1.34 million cars and 1.14 million homes in 48 states and have annual premiums of over $1.6 billion.
To access Internet Auto Quotes, you can either click on "Insurance Quotes" on Prudential's Home page at www.prudential.com.
