Van Ness is responsible for overseeing the development, introduction and growth of The Business Engine Network, a powerful Internet-based application for buyers and sellers of professional services. Van Ness joins a strong management team of executives with the required marketing, operating and financial management experience necessary to continue Business Engine's leadership position in the Professional Service Automation (PSA) market. Van Ness is a seasoned executive in consulting, technology and professional services, bringing more than twenty-five years of experience to his new position.

Van Ness joined Business Engine Software from EXE Technologies, where he was the senior vice president of North American operations, which included research and development. Prior to that, Van Ness served as group vice president at Oracle, where he was responsible for the central U.S. consulting practice and product development for the consumer sector and the oil and gas industry. Van Ness also spent five years at Coopers & Lybrand as a technology partner, responsible for all systems development methods, tools and practices. Ultimately, he served as the national director of the U.S. Technology Practice. Van Ness earned a bachelor's degree with highest honors in electrical engineering from the University of Texas in 1974.
