MILPITAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 28, 1999
GRIC Communications, Inc. (NASD: GRIC), a leading provider of Internet communications infrastructure and clearinghouse services for service providers announced today that it has been selected by Computerworld magazine as one of the 100 companies to watch in the year 2000.
Each year, Computerworld, a leading magazine for IT professionals, compiles a list of 100 startups worth watching for the upcoming year. Computerworld editors and a select panel of experts examined companies' technologies and determined which ones are strategically-positioned to succeed in a variety of technology areas. GRIC was chosen as part of the Network and Communications Management category.
"Many of the companies chosen by Computerworld have gone on to become major players in their respective markets so we are elated that GRIC was selected for this list," said Kristin Steinmetz, senior vice-president of marketing and business development. "Computerworld's award validates our strategy of providing Internet infrastructure technology such as Convergent Services Platform(tm) (CSP(tm)) along with value added IP services to telecommunications companies and service providers."
In addition to noting GRIC's CSP technology, Computerworld also highlighted the GRIC Alliance Network(tm), which includes more than 300 prominent ISPs and telecommunications companies around the world, including America Online, Mindspring, Fujitsu and France Telecom. GRIC's strategic relationships with notable players in the networking and telecommunications industries, such as Cisco Systems and Lucent Technologies, were another deciding factor in placing GRIC on the list.
