BOULDER, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 6, 1999--
"Bricks to Clicks" E-Seminar Designed to Help Banks Realize
Potential of E-Services
Global Commerce Systems Inc. (GCS) today announced a Web seminar co-sponsored by IBM on Tuesday, December 14, 1999, to help educate financial services decision-makers on the benefits of leveraging their role as trust-based institutions to become providers of secure online services for their customers and partners.
Titled "Bricks to Clicks," the free, hour-long e-seminar will be available at http://eseminars.envoyforum.com/ibm/customer.asp, and begin at 2 p.m. EST, 11 a.m. PST. The objective of "Bricks to Clicks" is to help attendees understand the fundamental benefits of shifting from traditional banking methods to Internet-enabled processes that put them at the center of the global online economy.
"We believe that banks, as trusted business service providers in the communities they serve, have the opportunity to leverage their existing business relationships to provide a full range of high-quality, trusted Internet business services to their commercial and consumer customers," said Geoffrey Shaw, president and chief executive officer, Global Commerce Systems. "These services will go far beyond simple online consumer banking services to include sophisticated business application services, market hub services and sophisticated business-to-business electronic commerce services to include procurement, payment, settlement, sales and customer relationship management services."
The seminar will begin with a banking industry overview by well-known branding and marketing expert Jim Taylor, co-author of The 500 Year Delta. Taylor will introduce the group to integrated e-commerce services for the banks and their commercial customers. He also will detail the benefits of creating bank-centric Internet hubs that enable secure online commerce. Boxley Llewellyn, Director, E-Business Marketing & Business Dev., Global Finance Sector, will then tie the bank strategies to IBM e-business. GCS Chief Operating Officer Jeff Jordan will describe the GCS "total solution" approach to designing and implementing an e-commerce initiative, which includes transitioning all major business processes -- including buying, selling, marketing and customer service -- to the Internet.
"We are pleased to be working with GCS to help educate the market about the changes and benefits the banking industry is experiencing in the transition to e-business," said Dan Russell, director, Worldwide ISV Software Sales and Marketing. "By working together to educate the market, we can continue to drive e-business solutions into the market, dramatically changing the way the financial sector does business."
"Our business partnership with IBM was developed to help financial institutions, along with their customers and partners, enhance their existing connections to allow the free flow of secure commerce activity via the Internet," Shaw added. "This seminar gives us the opportunity to share what we have learned and developed to help banks realize the incredible revenue potential e-commerce offers."
