Applied Terravision Signs Agreement with DataMirror; ATS to Re-market DataMirror's Enterprise Integration Software
Business Wire, Dec 7, 1999
DALLAS and CALGARY, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 7, 1999--
Applied Terravision Systems, Inc. (ATS) announced today that it has entered into an agreement with DataMirror Corporation (Toronto Stock Exchange:DMC), a leading Toronto-based software company. Under the terms of the agreement, ATS (Alberta Stock Exchange:TER) will re-market and distribute DataMirror's Transformation Server and High Availability Suite software.
"DataMirror has developed Transformation Server to meet the demands of companies that need to ensure reliable and fast access to critical information for e-commerce, business intelligence and enterprise application integration," said David Orr, ATS' senior vice president. "ATS is excited about this agreement and we look forward to offering our customers this exceptional data replication and transformation tool."
Transformation Server is designed for system managers, database administrators, data warehouse managers and application developers responsible for keeping enterprise data distributed, synchronized and secure. Data can be replicated in real-time as changes occur in a source database, or periodically on an incremental change basis. The software can also perform full-copy database refreshes when required. Transformation Server replicates and transforms data bi-directionally among IBM S/390 and AS/400, UNIX, Linux and Microsoft Windows NT-based servers running DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, Sybase and other popular databases. Implementation is fast and straightforward, requiring no programming changes to existing applications or costly consulting services.
ATS will also use DataMirror's High Availability Suite software in its Dallas super center, which serves as an application service provider for e-business enterprise information systems. This solution will ensure that the super center's tandem servers meet the stringent up-time requirements of a number of high-profile customers, including government agencies, banking institutions and petroleum companies. The DataMirror High Availability Suite is an integrated software solution that uses sophisticated real-time mirroring technology to provide continuous business operations and properly synchronize between primary and secondary systems.
"As the market for Enterprise Information Management grows, the need for software that can integrate data from a wide range of databases and computing platforms is critical, particularly in the area of e-commerce infrastructure," said Stewart Ritchie, DataMirror's channels manager. "DataMirror software provides this capability."
