Just in Time's BillCast Software Enables Billers to Reach Users of AOL/Intuit Online Billing Service; Underscores Critical Mass Milestone of OFX Connectivity

Business Wire, Dec 9, 1999

SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 9, 1999--

Just in Time Solutions, the leading provider of Internet billing and interactive customer care software, today disclosed that its BillCast(TM) platform is the first announced software solution that enables billers to reach customers of the forthcoming America Online, Inc./Intuit Inc. electronic bill presentment and payment (EBPP) service. At the heart of this seamless connectivity is the Open Financial Exchange (OFX) standard for electronic bill presentment, employed in both the AOL/Intuit service and the BillCast platform.

The recent announcement of the AOL/Intuit EBPP service marks the attainment of critical mass for OFX-based e-bill distribution. With the addition of AOL's 19 million members, billers using OFX solutions such as BillCast can now reach more than 100 million potential consumers.

"This is a huge win for OFX, delivering critical mass of consumer connectivity for billers and bill publishers deploying OFX-based solutions such as BillCast," said Douglas S. Thompson, president and CEO of Just in Time Solutions. "As the acknowledged leader in OFX-based EBPP software, BillCast has long enabled customers to send bills to Quicken.com and many other standards-based consolidators. The additional connectivity to AOL consumers further validates the reach and adoption of a standards-based solution."

BillCast already empowers billers to distribute electronic bills to consumers via other OFX-based aggregators, including Quicken.com, Wells Fargo, and CheckFree. In addition, BillCast 2.0 is fully interoperable with Spectrum, the EBPP exchange founded by Chase Manhattan, First Union, and Wells Fargo. The Spectrum service, which uses BillCast technology, is also based on the OFX standard.

About the BillCast Platform

BillCast 2.0 is a modular, enterprise-class suite of applications designed to provide billers and bill publishers with a sophisticated end-to-end solution for personalized bill presentment, payment and service delivery. Based on open standards such as OFX, BillCast 2.0 enables billers to use the electronic bill as a platform for delivering advanced self-care applications. Using a single BillCast application, billers can publish e-bills directly on their own Web sites and simultaneously publish bill summaries to consolidators such as home banking Web sites or portals.
