Badger Meter, Inc. and American Meter Company Restructure Business Relationship

MILWAUKEE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 9, 1999--Responding to a dynamic utility marketplace, Badger Meter, Inc. (AMEX:BMI ) and American Meter Company of Horsham, PA, have redefined their business relationship to enable both companies to continue to maintain their strong relationship while also pursuing other opportunities in the marketplace. The original agreement, dating back to 1990, successfully positioned Badger with TRACE(R), the first drive-by/walk-by Radio Frequency (RF) based Automated Meter Reading (AMR) system in the water industry. In principle, under the new non-exclusive arrangement, Badger and American will continue working closely together on current and future endeavors relating to TRACE opportunities. Other opportunities may now be addressed independently on a worldwide basis.
