Business Wire, Feb 11, 1999
GLENDALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 9, 1999--Marvin Lotz, senior vice president and president of the Management Division of Public Storage Inc. (NYSE:PSA)(PCX:PSA), Tuesday announced that the company plans to form an Internet Marketing Department.
Lotz reported: "The importance of e-commerce in the marketing of storage products will come of age at Public Storage, the nation's largest provider of storage solutions. Public Storage intends to reaffirm its position as the nation's leader in one-stop shopping for storage needs, with the online
solution for storage, truck rentals, boxes and packing supplies, and Pickup and Delivery service.
"To that end we have entered into an agreement with Apollo Interactive, a firm that has designed web sites for The WB Television Network, Jack in the Box Restaurants and the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. This will be our first step in bringing together the marketing power of the Internet and the unique position of Public Storage and should complement our other marketing initiatives, in particular our National Telephone Reservation System," Lotz concluded.
Public Storage Inc. is a fully integrated, self-administered and self-managed real estate investment trust that primarily acquires, develops, owns and operates self-storage facilities. The company's headquarters are located in Glendale. The company's properties are located in 37 states. At Dec. 31, 1998, the company had interests in 1,094 self-storage facilities.
