Kodak Names Paul Porter To Direct R&D Center for Product Design

ROCHESTER, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 15, 1999--Eastman Kodak Company today announced the appointment of Paul Porter as director of its Corporate Design & Usability Center. Porter was formerly director of New Product Development at Pitney Bowes, Inc.
In his new position, Porter will report to Dr. James C. Stoffel, director of Imaging Equipment and Software Research and Development and vice president. He will be responsible for continuity in industrial design language across Kodak product lines, including product design interfaces, design strategies, usability and human factors.
"Paul has a strong mix of skills and experience in new product development, industrial design and human factors," Stoffel said in announcing the appointment. "His background in these areas plus his knowledge of technology, engineering, packaging design and plastics will serve Kodak well in delivering products that are competitively advantaged in global imaging markets."
Porter brings to Kodak 29 years of new product development and industrial design experience with companies such as RCA, Sperry Corp., Itek Corporation, and Wang Laboratories, Inc. As director of New Product Development at Pitney Bowes, Inc., he was responsible for all new product development for its Mailing Systems Division. His leadership was responsible for the conversion of the Pitney Bowes product line into an award-winning set of product families.
He holds a bachelor of science degree in industrial design from Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.
