Business Wire, Feb 16, 1999
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 16, 1999--MGI Software Corp.(TSE:MGI.) MGI Software Corp., the world's leading provider of photography software for consumers, today announced that Eastman Kodak Company is now selling MGI's next generation flagship photo software, MGI PhotoSuite II from its Web site (www.kodak.com). MGI Software has the distinction of having one of the first non-Kodak branded photo software titles sold on the Kodak site.
Kodak's distribution of MGI PhotoSuite II is an important element of MGI Software's marketing program directed at home and business users of photography on the Web. MGI PhotoSuite II's unique architecture affords users the ability to update their software online via PhotoStreet.com. Users can easily download the latest camera Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), which allow users to connect directly to the camera through the software without having to install TWAIN drivers. The site also allows users to download new templates, tools, and special effects, which keep the application current and their experience fresh.
"We understand that many MGI PhotoSuite II users rely on Kodak solutions to capture their treasured images," said Anthony DeCristofaro, president and CEO, MGI Software. "With this arrangement, MGI PhotoSuite II, their PC Photography software of choice, is now a seamless connection away from their favorite photo provider." A true complement to Kodak digital imaging products, MGI PhotoSuite II connects directly with the Kodak DC220 and DC260 digital cameras, and supports Kodak inkjet photo weight paper.
MGI PhotoSuite II dominates the category with an unparalleled level of industry accolades and awards. Since it was introduced in September of this year, the product has garnered a PC Computing, 1998 Most Valuable Product(MVP) Award; a Most Compelling Digital Application Product Award, Lyra Research/Questra Consulting; a PC Magazine Technical Excellence Finalist; a C/Net Editor's Choice Award and a place on Windows Magazine's WinList.
Those visiting PMA '99 will have the opportunity to see MGI PhotoSuite II at the Picture Vision booth (No. T117).
