Quantex to Incorporate Next Generation Intel Pentium III Processor Into High End Systems

SOMERSET, N.J.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 17, 1999--Quantex Microsystems, Inc. announced today that it will feature the latest Intel(R) Pentium(R) III processors in their high-end multimedia (SM-Series), gaming (GX-Series), high-end business (SB-Series), slim desktop (VX-Series) and some value multimedia (M-Series) systems.

This processor is the newest technology currently available from Intel that features the Streaming SIMD Extensions, which is a set of 70 new instructions for improved multimedia performance. The Streaming SIMD Extensions will improve 3D visualization and enhance AC3 sound while also performing real-time MPEG2 encoding and decoding. The features of the new Pentium III processor also enhance the performance of Quantex business systems.
