IDG's Solutions Integrator Names Three Industry Veterans to Sales Force; New Hires Bring Experience, Energy and Enthusiasm to Sales Team
Business Wire, Feb 19, 1999
SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 19, 1998--IDG's Solutions Integrator magazine, the authoritative source of information for enterprise resellers, today announced the addition of three sales representatives to the publication.
Brandi Barnette, Kevin Kirk and Lisa Zimmerer were hired as senior regional managers for the west coast. All three will report to Mark Taussig, western ad director for Solutions Integrator.
"Solutions Integrator has made three exceptional hires for the sales team," said Taussig. "They each bring a tremendous amount of experience, energy and enthusiasm to the publication and will make an immediate impact within their territories," he added.
Barnette joins Solutions Integrator from Internet World where she was regional sales manager for the Pacific Northwest. Prior to Internet World, she was in media/account services at Adaptec, the leading provider of SCSI products. Barnette has also spent time at Battenberg, Fillhardt & Wright Advertising where she was director of marketing services.
Barnette brings a unique perspective to Solutions Integrator having worked on both the client side and agency side of high tech marketing. Her territory will cover greater Silicon Valley including key accounts such as 3Com, Hewlett-Packard, Silicon Graphics and Sun Microsystems.
Kirk comes to Solutions Integrator from Fawcette Technical Publications where he was western regional account executive for JAVAPro and WEB Builder. Before Fawcette, he ran his own media consultancy firm where he provided media analysis, competitive analysis and advertising placement services. Kevin has also been involved in public affairs and congressional press efforts. Kirk's territory will be San Mateo and San Jose including key accounts such as Novell, Netscape and Intel.
Zimmerer is a ten-year veteran of IDG coming most recently from PC World where she was senior account manager. During her tenure at PC World, Zimmerer was the recipient of several sales awards including highest market share in her territory. Prior to PC World, she was account manager at Publish magazine. She also has over ten years experience in high tech advertising having been with Austin Knight Advertising, Thompson Recruitment Advertising and Phillips-Ramsey Advertising. Zimmerer is located in Irvine, Calif. and will be responsible for Southern California, Nevada and Arizona.
These three new hires bring a renewed energy and focus to the publication's veteran sales team. With its initial BPA audit successfully completed, it is clear that the publication is experiencing increased momentum in the marketplace. Ad pages are up and the magazine continues to increase its editorial excellence through new sections, a new awards program and a recently launched series of special reports called the SI Signature Series.
"We're seeing strong acceptance of Solutions Integrator -- both with our readers and with advertisers who want to reach the influential solutions integrator community," said publisher Keith Newman. "And, with a new web site and conference business around the integrator community, Solutions Integrator is an exciting place to be," he added.
Based in San Mateo, Solutions Integrator debuted in November 1997 at Comdex Fall. It reaches 90,000 enterprise resellers whose primary business is providing complex IT solutions to the New Enterprise. The publication focuses on IT integration issues including technology assessment and implementation, IT buying practices and plans, business strategies, vendor technology roadmaps and vertical industry opportunities.
In addition to Solutions Integrator, IDG currently publishes 27 channel publications in 23 countries, serves enterprise resellers through conferences such as IDC's Solutions Integrator Forum and provides channel-focused research services through its global research arm International Data Corp.
