Webb Named Disney's Senior Vice President, Investor Relations and Shareholder Services

BURBANK, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 2, 1999--Winifred (Wendy) Markus Webb has been promoted to senior vice president, investor relations and shareholder services, at The Walt Disney Co., it was announced Tuesday by Thomas Staggs, executive vice president and chief financial officer.
Previously, she was vice president, investor relations and shareholder services.
Webb, 40, is Disney's primary contact with Wall Street entertainment analysts and the institutional investment community. She also oversees the group responsible for stock transfers and relations with the company's individual shareholders.
"Wendy has done a superb job of providing a liaison between our company and Wall Street," said Staggs. "Her balanced perspective, knowledge of Disney's many businesses and her ability to represent top management have contributed to her success."
Webb is a 1984 graduate of the Harvard Business School and holds an English literature degree with honors from Smith College, on whose board of trustees she serves. Prior to joining Disney in 1988, she was an investment banker with PaineWebber and Lehman Brothers. Webb is married and has a son.
