VERITAS(R) Software Corporation (Nasdaq:VRTS), the leading provider of end-to-end storage management solutions, today announced its support for the Dell PowerVault SAN solution, a new class of SAN products for Windows NT environments from Dell Computer Corporation, the world's leading direct computer systems company.

As an extension of the strategic Technology Development and Distribution Agreement announced between VERITAS and Dell on October 26, 1998, VERITAS plans to certify VERITAS NetBackup(TM) for Windows NT Server, the industry's most scalable Windows NT backup solution, for use with Dell's new centralized storage consolidation and backup solution within the second quarter of 1999.

"Dell's SAN offers customers a scaleable, enterprise-class solution for their Windows NT environment at a lower cost than most alternatives in the industry.
