ComNet/ Washington D.C., the largest technology conference and exhibition dedicated to enterprise networking and communications, today announced a stellar line-up of leaders in the networking and communications industry leaders who will headline keynote and Super Sessions.

ComNet/D.C., which runs Jan. 25-28 at the Washington, D.C. Convention Center and Washington, D.C. Renaissance Hotel, will feature keynote addresses Jan. 26-28, by C. Michael Armstrong, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AT&T, John Chambers, president and CEO of Cisco Systems, and John Sidgmore, CEO of UUNET Technologies and Vice Chairman & Chief Operations Officer of MCI WorldCom, Inc.

The keynote addresses lineup is as follows:

C. Michael Armstrong, AT&T

"Networking: The New Generation Comes of Age" will be the focus of keynote address by C. Michael Armstrong, Chairman and CEO, AT&T, at 11:15 a.m.-12:15 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26. Armstrong's keynote defines the converging of three technologies-- telecommunications, computing and multimedia--strengthened by networking.

John Chambers, Cisco Systems

"Empowering the Internet Generation" by John Chambers, president and CEO, Cisco Systems takes place 9:45 a.m.-10:45 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 27. Chambers will present the role of the Internet in the networking and communications industries and will discuss challenges - and solutions - for Year 2000.

John Sidgmore, UUNET and MCI Worldcom

John Sidgmore, CEO of UUNET Technologies and Vice Chairman & Chief Operations Officer of MCI WorldCom, Inc., talks about "Changing the Face of Telecommunications" from 9:30 a.m.- 10:30 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 28. Sidgmore will deliver his view of a new wave of telecommunications in the next few years, as IP Fax and IP voice, and a mix of audio, video and multimedia applications emerge via the Internet.

Along with the keynote addresses, well-known experts within the networking industry will moderate Super Sessions.

John Gallant, editor-in-chief, Network World, will serve as moderator for "Network World's Frame Relay Showdown" from 1:30 p.m. -2:45 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 26. The discussion formatted as a question and answer format, will be geared towards choosing a frame relay service provider for network managers. Leading frame relay providers, such as Steve Bell of Silicon Valley Networking Lab, Atul Kapoor of The Tolly Group, and David Rohde of Network World. Participating companies include: MCI Worldcom, Intermedia, Sprint, AT&T, USWest, Infonet and Qwest.

Bob Metcalfe, columnist, vice president of Technology for International Data Group, inventor of the Ethernet, and founder of 3COM, leads the discussion "Surfing the Vortices of Internet-Telephone Convergence" from 12:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 27. Panelists include: Bill Smith, Vice President of Network Strategic Planning, Bell South Telecommunications, John Sidgmore, CEO of UUNET Technologies, Vice Chairman and COO of MCI WorldCom, Inc., William L. Schrader, Chairman/CEO, PSINet, Inc. and Lewis Wilks, President/Business Markets of Qwest.

"IP vs. ATM--Is It a Technology Debate or Simply Different Solutions for Different Customer Problems?" is the final super session with Frank Dzubeck, President and CEO, Communications Network Architects. Inc. serving as moderator. The session takes place 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28. The panelists-- Tom Nolle, President, CIMI, David Passmore, President, NetReference, Inc., and Jennifer Pigg, Associate, The Yankee Group-- will forecast the future of ATM and IP, and other concerns in an interactive session with attendees.
