Epson Extends Line of Connect-It POS Interface Products; New Interface Allows Retailers to Increase POS Terminal Performance Without Replacing Their Entire System
Business Wire, Jan 18, 1999
TORRANCE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 18, 1999--Epson, the leading supplier of value-added POS solutions, unveiled its new Connect-It 7052 interface for NCR systems at the National Retail Federation Conference and Expo Monday in New York.
The Connect-It 7052 allows retailers to update and increase performance of their NCR systems with reliable Epson printers without replacing their entire POS system.
"Epson's objective is to provide retailers with a clear migration path to the future with the most comprehensive value-added solutions and programs," said Bud Weist, director of sales and marketing, Epson. "The Connect-It 7052 is an ideal solution for retailers seeking unparalleled investment protection for their existing POS solutions as well as ability to increase productivity and reduce costs."
The Future of POS Migration
Epson's Connect-It 7052 allows retailers who currently have NCR 7052 or 7450 terminals to seamlessly add the quality, performance and reliability of an Epson TM printer to their system.
In addition to significantly reduced maintenance costs and increased print speeds, added benefits gained from the Epson solution can include added print capabilities such as clean receipts, coupon and bar code printing, check writing and MICR.
Connect-It solutions for NCR systems are easy to install and use the POS terminal's existing connector and printer cable and, in most cases, don't require an external power supply.
"Epson's Connect-It solutions give retailers the best of both worlds," said Weist. "They can add updated printing capability to their NCR system today and retain that investment as they move to open systems in the future."
Connect-It solutions for retailers who currently have NCR 7052 or 7450 terminals include the one station TM-T88II; the thermal hybrid TM-H5000II; and the new multifunction TM-H6000 printer with slip, thermal and impact printing in the most compact durable design in its class.
The Connect-It family currently includes interfaces for IBM, Fujitsu Atrium and now NCR POS terminals. For more information on Epson products, call 310/782-0770 or visit Epson's Web site at http://www.pos.epson.com.
