Washington Transit Authority Selects Computer Technology Associates For Smooth Transport into New Millennium

BETHESDA, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 19, 1999--Computer Technology Associates, Inc. (CTA), a leading provider of information systems and services, announced Tuesday they are providing the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) with Year 2000 inventory and vendor management of its information technology and embedded systems for Y2K compliance.

The contract is valued at $300,000, with work being completed by early this year.

CTA has been contracted to provide Year 2000 services of embedded systems for all Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority's buses, subway trains, and transit stations. WMATA's information technology includes all of their production applications and systems.

Donald McCanless, WMATA's chief information officer, said CTA was selected as the "best value." "While WMATA has been hard at work on Y2K issues for some time, we are pleased that CTA, as a leader in the industry on this issue, will bring additional expertise and staffing to the WMATA Y2K challenge," McCanless said.
