Intergraph Integration Solutions Added to Rational ClearCaseLink Partner Program; Simplifies Windows NT Application Development in Mixed Environments
Business Wire, Jan 21, 1999
HUNTSVILLE, Ala.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 21, 1999--Intergraph Corporation, (NASDAQ/NMS:INGR), a premiere developer of integration solutions, and Rational Software Corporation today announced a joint marketing agreement that will make it easier for software development teams to create solutions for Windows NT(R) using Rational ClearCase, Rational's market-leading software configuration management tool.
After thorough testing by Rational, Intergraph's award-winning Network File System (NFS(R)) client, DiskAccess(TM), will be included under Rational's worldwide RationalLink Partner Program as an application guaranteed to work with Rational's ClearCase. DiskAccess is based on NFS, the defacto standard in UNIX environments for sharing files and resources across multiple platforms.
With DiskAccess, Rational ClearCase customers are able to develop across Windows and UNIX environments while retaining real-time access to the ClearCase repository. The combination of Rational ClearCase and Intergraph's DiskAccess helps cross-platform development teams better manage and maintain software assets throughout the development life cycle.
"The partnership between Intergraph and Rational Software Corporation is great news for companies looking to meet the growing demands of customers requiring Windows NT integration in UNIX environments," says Ajay Sikka, industry marketing manager for engineering at Microsoft Corp. "With DiskAccess, customers of Rational's program will be able to access the cross functionality and ease of use that the Windows platform delivers, ultimately cutting costs and reducing headaches for IT managers and businesses porting from UNIX to NT."
The ability to efficiently and reliably access both UNIX and Windows files within Rational ClearCase, Rational's software configuration management product, benefits application developers by speeding access to source code and other software assets and eliminating the need for duplicate files. DiskAccess is an integral component for developers supporting applications on both UNIX and Windows NT and companies migrating from UNIX to Windows NT.
"Intergraph's DiskAccess aids our ClearCase customers by offering them an efficient mechanism for accessing ClearCase files in mixed environments," said Kevin Kernan, vice president, partner marketing, Rational Software Corporation. "Cross platform teams can deploy DiskAccess to use ClearCase to shorten development cycles and improve the quality of their solutions."
DiskAccess is part of a complete family of interoperability solutions called AccessNFS Solutions. To find out more about these products, call 1-800-291-9909 or visit Intergraph's NFS Website at http://www.intergraph.com/nfs.
