Business Wire, Jan 25, 1999
WINDSOR, Conn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 25, 1999--SS&C Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:SSNC) today announced it has completed a formal business agreement with Interactive Data Corporation to jointly develop a comprehensive, automated data delivery interface between Interactive Data's RemotePlus(tm) service and SS&C's CAMRA 2000(tm) and SS&C Direct(sm) clients.
"Interactive Data is pleased to offer both CAMRA 2000 and SS&C Direct clients a highly automated means of retrieving global pricing and fixed-income evaluations, as well as additional value-added data including dividends, corporate actions, and terms and conditions," stated Cort Williams, Director, Business Development Group, at Interactive Data. "This new relationship allows Interactive Data and its Financial Times Information affiliates to serve the needs, from asset set-up to post-trade accounting and reporting, of CAMRA 2000 clients worldwide. We are also excited to be exploring further integration opportunities with SS&C's Antares 2000(tm) and Mabel Systems(tm)."
The new interface to Interactive Data's RemotePlus(tm) service will enable SS&C clients to select exactly the data updates they require using a simple point-and-click menu. Key features include:
-- Ad hoc access and automated batch retrieval -- Internet, dial-up, frame relay, and leased line connectivity options -- Pre-formatted CAMRA 2000 data retrieval options -- Customizable data retrieval capabilities -- Textual and coded values -- Multiple security identifiers
In conjunction with this announcement, SS&C introduces the SS&C Data Center(tm), a new product that captures, processes, and delivers information from external data providers, enabling SS&C's clients to request data on-line, using any of SS&C's products. Requests are sent automatically to data providers and results are returned directly to the requesting SS&C system.
"We are excited to be working with a worldwide industry leader such as Interactive Data, to offer this premier service to our clients and prospects," stated Michael Morini, Senior Vice President of SS&C's Asset Management Business Unit. "The wealth of information available through Interactive Data, combined with the easy access the SS&C Data Center offers, will greatly enhance our clients' Straight-Thru Processing(sm) capabilities."
The SS&C Data Center processes pricing, Security Master information (put, call, sinking fund schedules, etc.), MBS/CMO factors, corporate actions (including dividends, splits, and reverse splits), performance information, and European Monetary Unit (EMU) related information (redenomination/renominalization rule subsets). Clients can choose to update their financial database directly, or download the information to spreadsheets, databases, and/or word processing documents.
"SS&C's Data Center could not have been introduced at a more opportune time for our clients," comments Steve Helmbrecht, Senior Vice President, International. "As securities convert to the euro, the new security details resulting from the redenomination/renominalization process can be requested automatically and instantly through the SS&C Data Center, and stored directly into SS&C's software products, saving considerable time and effort."
